Members compete for the Bob Couchman Cup, presented in memory of Bob Couchman, a long time member, who died in 2020
Held on the last day of the season and
played with a lightheartedness of which Bob would have approved, triples are drawn prior to play
After some short
(6 ends) 'round robin' matches usually (but not always) followed by Semi Finals, a Final of 9 ends completes the proceedings

Once again, the weather was kind to us and provided sunny intervals. Everyone seemed to have a great time and all the matches were played in a good 'end of term' spirit. It was gratifying that quite a number of people stayed to watch the final.
The custom is that the final is played on Rink 1 (across), thus giving the spectators in the gallery a great view of the action and allowing them to hear, and take part in, the good-natured banter usually much in evidence. However, Rink 3 was used this year as Rink 1 was in need of some recuperation. Unsuprisingly, it soon became evident that nobody from either camp would be holding back because of that and much fun ensued!
Doug & Brian played as a pair due to a last minute absence, with their matches consisting of 8 woods per side per end. For no known reason, this year's final was played over 8 ends.
